Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Upsala, for Rose Herzog, 93, who died Friday at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, St. Francis. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Brenny Funeral Home, Albany, and one hour before services Monday at the church. Christian Mothers will pray at 7:30 p.m. Sunday followed by parish prayers at 8 at the funeral home.
Rose Herzog was born in St. Anthony to Andrew and Anna (Schmidt) Schreier. She married Fred Herzog on June 17, 1935, in St. Francis. The couple farmed north of St. Francis. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Upsala, and a member of Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children, Donald of St. Francis, and Monica Bechtold and Bernadette Ethen of St. Joseph; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sisters Katherine Fuller of Melrose and Mary Ann of Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 3, 1990; and sisters Julia Loehlein and Frances Lehner. Memorials are preferred to Mother of Mercy Nursing Home Hospice Room or Unity Family Hospice of Albany in lieu of flowers.
