Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade for Mary Ann Roering, 72, who died Tuesday at Pine Villa Nursing Home, Melrose. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home, Belgrade. A Christian Mothers Rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Parish prayers will be at 8. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
Mary Ann Roering was born in Lake Henry to Frank and Freda (Nietfeld) Gruber. She grew up on a family farm near Spring Hill. She married Alfred Roering on Oct. 26, 1948, at the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill. They farmed for 32 years in the Belgrade area, retiring in 1980 when they moved into Belgrade. Mary Ann worked for Jennie-O Foods in Willmar for 24 years, retiring in 1997. In August of that year, she moved into Roseview Manor in Melrose. She lived at the home of Jerry and Theresa Hiltner in the Sauk Centre/Osakis area until November 1999, when she moved to the Pine Villa Nursing Home in Melrose where she has lived since. She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by her son, Norman of Belgrade; daughter Linda Trisko of Greenwald; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother Werner Gruber of Spring Hill; sisters, Agnes Kleve of Bloomington, and Lorraine Evans of Athens, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 21, 1997; an infant son David; and infant sister Rose.
