Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 20 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa for Lorraine Butkowski who died Thursday, April 16 at her home in Melrose. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church in St. Rosa. Christian Mothers will pray at 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.
Lorraine Bruns was born March 7, 1920 in Millwood Township, Stearns County to William and Anna (Rau) Bruns. On April 13, 1944 she married Arnold Butkowski in St. Rosa. Lorraine was an assistant cashier at State Bank of Grey Eagle for over 30 years. She liked gardening and cooking at her home on the farm. In later years she enjoyed visiting and playing cards with her family and friends.
Lorraine was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in St. Rosa, Christian Mothers, and the Young at Heart Club of Freeport.
Survivors include her children, Mary Jo Blommel of St. Rosa, Ralph (Jan) Butkowski of Roseville, and Lloyd Butkowski of St. Rosa; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Butkowski on January 26, 1997; daughter, Patricia Hynnek; brothers and sisters, Lambert, Bill, Clarence, and Frank Bruns, Hilda Bergmann, Adella Huisentruit, Bertha McClaren, Bridget Bruns, Ida Bruns, Alfreta Bruns, and Esther Bruns.
