Ervin M. Eickhoff, age 83 of Belgrade, died April 8, 2009 at the Paynesville Area Hospital in Paynesville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009 at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, where there will be a 5:30 p.m. men of the parish Rosary and 7:00 p.m. parish prayer service. Visitation will continue on Monday for an hour prior to the services at the church.

Ervin M. Eickhoff was born on October 24, 1925 in St. Francis, the son of William and Augusta (Hoppe) Eickhoff. He grew up in Belgrade where he attended school. After his schooling he worked on the family farm. On Oct. 17, 1952 he entered the United States Army where he served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on July 16, 1954 and returned home. He worked in Minneapolis for a few years before returning to Belgrade in 1955 and purchasing the Mobil Station. On June 22, 1957, Ervin was united in marriage to Mary Jane Stern at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. They made their home in Belgrade where Ervin worked for LSM for 13 years and later Menards, retiring in 1988.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Eickhoff; children, Steven (Marilyn) Eickhoff of Moorhead, Barbara (David) Hess of Paynesville, Mark (Laurie) Eickhoff of Watertown and Amy (Tom) Porwoll of Rockville; seven grandchildren; siblings, Dick (Sandra) Eickhoff of Bloomington, and Tony (Laura) Eickhoff of Paynesville and brother-in-law Larry Allmaras of Coon Rapids.

Ervin was preceded in death by his siblings, Boniface, Jerome, Elizabeth Nelson and Martha Allmaras.
