Kevin Lawrence Stroeing, age 47 of Chanhassen, passed away unexpectedly from meningitis, Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, in Chanhassen. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Feb. 2, 11 a.m., at St. Hubert's Catholic Community in Chanhassen. Burial was at St. Hubert's Catholic Cemetery, Chanhassen.
Kevin was born Nov. 29, 1961, in Melrose to Vernon and Marjorie (Wiechmann) Stroeing, one of seven children. Kevin graduated from Melrose High School in 1980 and married Shirl Wehseler, Farming, in 1986. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include Shirl, mother of Aaron and Kaitlyn of Chanhassen; son, Brandon; parents, Vernon and Marjorie of Freeport; parents-in-law, Leander and Catherine Wehseler of Cold Spring; brothers and sisters, Cindy (Don) Schneider of Meire Grove, Deb (Gary) Marn of Luxemburg, Darlene (Mike) Leyendecker of St. Cloud, Randy Stroeing of Melrose, Doris Schmitt of Cold Spring, Jeff (Lisa) Stroeing of Albany; god-son, Craig Schneider; many other nieces and nephews. Casketbearers were his brothers and sisters. Honorary Casketbearers were Don Schneider, Gary Marn, Keith Sand and Randy Klaphake. Funeral arrangements were with the Bertas Funeral Home of Chaska.
