Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 21 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Monica A. Schleper, 96, of St. Joseph, who died March 18, 2009 at Talahi Care Center. The Reverend Joseph Feders will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00-9:00 PM on Friday, and after 9:30 AM on Saturday, at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 PM, and the Christian Women and the Daughters of Isabella will pray at 7:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.

Monica was born on January 8, 1913, in Richmond to Joseph and Elizabeth (Schlangen) Ramler. She married Raymond Schleper on October 6, 1937 in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. They farmed near St. Joseph until 1982, and then moved into St. Joseph. Monica was a resident of Talahi Care Center since April of 2006.

Monica is survived by: sons and daughters, Richard (Elaine) of St. Joseph, Sister Julie of St. Joseph, Joyce Notsch of Foley, Ralph (Sally) of Elmdale, Ron (Missy) of Sartell, Joanie (Rob) Nei of St. Cloud, Roger (Sue Wendt) of St. Cloud, Janet of St. Cloud; 22 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; brother Celestine Ramler of Richmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond on October 15, 1991, grandson Charles Schleper, son-in-law Robert Notsch; brothers and sisters John, Catherine Neu, Leo, Leonard, Jacob, Severin, an infant brother and infant sister. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. The Schleper family would like to thank the staff at Talahi Care Center for their wonderful care and compassion.
