Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Stephanie J. Hommerding, age 17, who died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital after a two year battle with cancer. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 5 p.m. 9 p.m., Tuesday and from 9:00 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). Parish Prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
Stephanie was born in St. Cloud, MN to Nicholas and Lori (Goebel) Hommerding. She was a senior at ROCORI High School where she was a home coming queen attendant. Stephanie was a member of the St. Cloud School of Dance for 10 years... she loved to dance! She looked forward to spending time with her family and friends, and camping. Stephanie taught a lot of people the true meaning of friendship and will be missed by her family, friends and her dog, Jerry. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish.
Survivors include her parents, Nicholas and Lori; sister, Jessi (fiancé Matt) and niece, Baili; grandmothers, Jean Goebel and Marian Hommerding; grandfather, LeRoy (Alice) Goebel; great-grandmother, Clara Klimmek; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her godfather, Joe Goebel; grandfather, Cuthbert Hommerding; uncle, Allen Hommerding and great-grandfather, Ruben Klimmek. Memorials are preferred to the Stephanie Hommerding Memorial Fund.
