Senator Dennis Nathe

Dennis Nathe was born on December 12, 1938 in Scobey, Mont. He is the son of Mike and Saralda (Korf) Nathe. Dennis grew up on the Nathe Ranch south of Redstone, Mont; attended grade schools there, and high school at Assumption Abbey, at Richardton, North Dakota. Dennis earned a B.S. degree in Biology from St Benedict's College in Atchinson, Kansas; and completed a Master's degree in Physiology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked as Clinical Research Coordinator for 3M Company in Minneapolis.

After the death of his father in 1967 he returned to Redstone. Dennis married Della Snyder December 28, 1970 in Plentywood; they have made their home both on the ranch and in Plentywood since.

Montana Sen Dennis Nathe was a quiet leader, and earned an active and respected role in many organizations, serving on countless local, regional, state-wide, and northwestern United States boards, committees, and commissions as well as in the Montana Legislature. Sen Dennis Nathe had a tremendous pride in and concern for the values and traditions of rural Montana; and his family and colleagues recall how he referred to this area as "God's County", and remember his often-stated pride that his family could grow firm wings and deep roots here."
