Betty Jean Banning

Betty Jean Nathe, 67, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, in her Helena home surrounded by family after a long battle with lung cancer. Rosary for Betty is at 7 p.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Hagler Anderson Mortuary. Funeral services are 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at the Cathedral of St. Helena with burial after at Resurrection Cemetery. A luncheon will follow after in the Cathedral basement.
Betty was born Dec. 15, 1936, to Fredrick and Jean Banning in Whitefish. She grew up in the town of Fortine and graduated from the High School in Eureka. On July 6, 1957, she wed David M. Nathe of Kalispell, and they made their home there, and later in 1978 they moved to Helena. Betty gave birth to three children, Kelly, Janet and Mark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Janet and husband David.
She is survived by her sons, Kelly D. Nathe, his wife Tammy, and two sons, Kody and Kyler of Great Falls and Mark A. Nathe, his wife Sheila, and his two sons, Mike and Logan of Helena. Mrs. Nathe was a professional bookkeeper and tax preparer working for Bell Manufacturing, S&S Logging, Galusha, Higgins and Galusha Accounting, and Clayton Sheets Accounting. Betty treasured her home and flower gardens in Helena spending many hours tending to her flowers and plants. In her last days she spent many comforting hours surrounded by family, friends and many caring neighbors.
