He was a Star Trek devotee and an avid reader of science fiction. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Sue and Jerry Gaskin, Dunnellon; two stepbrothers, Sean and Nolan Gaskin, both of Zephyrhills; two stepsisters, Dawn Gaskin, Winter Haven and Michele Gaskin, Virginia; and maternal grandparents, Cotton and Nelda Blanchard, Cookson, Okla.
