Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, February 6 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Grey Eagle for Theresa F. Tschida who died Monday, February 2 at Diamond Willow in Little Falls. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday at the church in Grey Eagle. Christian Mothers and the St. Frances Mission Group will pray at 6 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7 p.m.
Theresa Tschida was born August 30, 1922 in Millwood Township, Stearns County to Bernard and Frances (Stoermann) Boecker. On November 27, 1945 she married John Tschida, Jr. at St. Rose of Lima in St. Rosa. Theresa lived in Grey Eagle since 1946. She was co-owner of Tschida Trucking of Grey Eagle. She was a cook at the Grey Eagle School and a long time custodian of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Grey Eagle. She was a member of the St. Josephs Catholic Church, St. Frances Mission Group, past president of the Christian Mothers and of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. She was a long time chairperson of the church bazaar dinners and chicken dumpling suppers.
Theresa enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and harvesting her garden vegetables, floral arranging, needlework, reading, walking and volunteering. She was also a long time blood donor.
Survivors include her children, Gerald (Pat) Tschida of Brooklyn Park, Roger (Sheila) Tschida of So. St. Paul, Karen Tschida of St. Cloud, Phyllis Tschida of Sauk Rapids, Bernice Tschida of Grey Eagle, Les (June) Tschida of Alexandria, Darlene Tschida-Pracht of Sartell and Elaine Tschida of Sartell; grandchildren, Brian Tschida, Kimberly Rowe, Lucas and Marissa Tschida Schafer; great-grandchildren, Meliah, Luke and Katie Tschida, Breelyn Lang and Patrick Rowe; and sister, Anna Herickhoff of Melrose.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Tschida, Jr. on June 17, 1993; children, Linda and Philip Tschida; son-in-law, Rick Pracht; great-grandson, John Rowe; sisters and brothers, Marie Robideaux, Agnes Beste, Lawrence, Paul and Norb Boecker, and Valeria Funk.
