Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Wilfred F. Bill Stock, age 85, of St. Cloud, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on January 23, 2009 at the V.A. Medical Center in St. Cloud. Burial will take place at Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud with full military honors. Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Monday and after 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home followed by the V.F.W. Post 428 ritual at 6:30 p.m.
Bill was born September 7, 1923 in St. Joseph, MN to Joseph and Johanna (Scherer) Stock. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from October of 1944 until June of 1946. He married Agnes Bloch on November 12, 1947 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. He worked for Genes Tire Service providing farm service for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Peters Parish since 1952, a member of VFW Post 428, St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622 and the Sno-Joes Snowmobile Club.
Bill is survived by his wife Agnes of St. Cloud, children Sharon (Harold) Ramler of St. Cloud, Carol Ennenga of Coon Rapids, Gerald Stock of St. Cloud, Allan Stock of Sartell, Vernon Stock of St. Cloud, Elaine (Charles) Wagner of Dayton, MN, Barbara (Mark) Dingmann of Eagan, Ronald (Bonnie) Stock of St. Cloud, Lori (Gary) Brix of St. Cloud, Ralph Stock of St. Cloud and Connie (Mark) Schwinghammer of St. Cloud, 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brothers and sisters Marie (John) Krebsbach of St. Joseph, Joan (John) Fuchs of Cold Spring, Alice Lauer of Sartell, Gilbert (Theresa) Stock of St. Joseph, Irene (Ray) Pierskalla of Willmar, Richard (Joyce) Stock of St. Joseph, Charles (Janice) Sto ck of St. Cloud, Arlene (Art) Brinker of St. Joseph and Doris (Jerry) Johnson of St. Joseph.
Preceding him in death were his parents, son Roger (1982) and brothers Leander, Sylvan and Edgar. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. The Stock family wishes to express their gratitude to Heartland Hospice and the VA Medical Center for the excellent care they provided.
