Mass of Christian Burial will on Saturday, December 13th at 11:30 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Julitta Jill C. Schleper, age 80, of St. Cloud, who died on Monday at Sterling House of Sauk Rapids. Rev. Alan Wielinski will officiate. Inurnment will be at a later date in St. Marys Parish Cemetery in Melrose. Friends may call on Saturday after 9:30 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church in St. Cloud.
Jill was born April 14th, 1928 in Melrose to Martin and Margaret (Frank) Wander. She married Frank Koterba of Sauk Centre, who died in 1963. She married Urban Schleper on October 10th, 1969, who died September 18th, 1999. Jill was a resident of St. Cloud since 1964. She helped establish the Womens Jaycees in Minot, ND. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, National Right to Life, MCCL, Eagles Aerie #622 Auxiliary, St. Peters Christian Women, Daughters of Isabella and volunteered for Catholic Charities. Jill was a Boy Scout Den Mother and longtime election judge.
Survivors include her children, Chuck Koterba (Ann), Hopkins; Frank Koterba (Pam Chelgren-Koterba), Bellingham, WA; Michael Koterba (JoAnn Roskoski-Koterba), Columbia, MD; Jim Schleper (Ann), St. Cloud; Jana Nash (Joe), Eden Prairie; Mary Kaye Thaemert (Christopher), Hugo; thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister and brothers, Betty Johnson, Fergus Falls; Jack Wander, Duck, NC; and David Wander, Melrose.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two infant sons, and sister Patricia Gowdy. Memorials are preferred to Birthline or St. Peters Parish Endowment. The family would especially like to thank Sterling House of Sauk Rapids and the St. Cloud Hospital Home Care and Hospice for their extra-ordinary care of their mother and support of her family.
