A memorial service celebrating the life of Veda M. Mohs, age 91, of Sauk Rapids, will be held at 1PM on Tuesday at Country Manor Chapel in Sartell. Veda passed away at Country Manor surrounded by family on Saturday. Interment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 11:30AM-1PM Tuesday at the chapel in Sartell. Arrangements are being made by the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Homes.
Veda was born September 24, 1917 in St. Cloud to the late Rolla & Susan Sprague. She graduated from St. Cloud Tech High School and then attended Brandy and Rogers Beauty School in Minneapolis. She married Ralph J. Mohs on May 7, 1938. Veda was a beautician out of her home for several years before working for the Sauk Rapids school district as a kitchen helper and recess helper at Pleasantview, Hillside and Sauk Rapids High School. She was actively involved with Christian Mothers and Sacred Heart Church Bazaar. Her interests included bowling, cooking, home-making and hosting all of the Mohs family fish fries. Veda loved traveling to various destinations with her family.
Survivors include her children, Ronald (Linda) Mohs, Lawrence (Lois) Mohs, Karen (Leon) Thelen, Beverly (Ronald) Brown, Robert (Frankie) Mohs, Timothy (Karen) Mohs, Gretchen (Jeffrey) Johnson, Colleen (Douglas) Millard, Francis (Donna) Mohs, Rebecca (Tom) Schmidt, Joseph (Terri) Mohs; 30 grandchildren; and 54 great grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Mohs in January 1989; sisters, Dorothy Eklund, Elsie Hanson, Vera Sprague; brothers-in-law, Steen Eklund, Merle Hanson, Francis Mohs, Robert Mohs, Berthold Mohs, Don Truzinski; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Murphy, Dorothy Knudson, Jeanette Mohs, Donna Murray, Eileen Truzinski, and Phyllis Schmidtbauer; and grandson, Adam Mohs. A special thank you to the staff at Country Manor Apartments and Nursing Home.
