Services will be 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2004 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Theresa H. Menke age 92, who died Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Entombment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Monday, at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary from the Christian Women and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Theresa was born in Cold Spring to Theodore and Ottilia (Krier) Schreifels. She married Gregor Menke on May 19, 1931 in St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring. She enjoyed family and friends, tatting, crocheting, gardening, volunteering and running the coffee shop at the St. Benedict Center. Theresa was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Christian Women and Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include her daughters, Bernice (Herb) Neeser of Fridley, Marilyn (Len) Koshiol of St. Cloud and sons, Don (Amy) of Bloomington, Richard (Rita) of Sturgeon Lake, Charles (Jan) of Klamath Falls, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Irene (Jim) Brady of Cold Spring; sisters, Clara (Martin) Huberty, Marie (Jerome) Roeser of Watkins, Barbara (Ray) Nistler and Rita (Lee) Ludwig of Cold Spring; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregor (1984); son, Vernon (1974); brothers, Theodore and Fr. Ferdinand, OSB; sisters, Mathilda Huberty, Rose Kraemer and Marcella Schreifels. Memorials are preferred to St. Benedict Community or St. Boniface Church.
