Mass of Christian burial will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2004 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Bernard A. Rausch, age 81, who died Wednesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, and from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Catholic Aid Association and Cold Spring American Legion will pray at 7:30 p.m. The Cold Spring Area Maennerchor and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Bernard was born in Farming, MN to John and Angeline (Lodemeier) Rausch. He married Lydia Athman on June 24, 1950 in St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Avon, MN. He retired from the Cold Spring Granite Company after 41 years of employment. Bernie was an avid golfer who enjoyed gardening, bowling, yard work, singing, sports and spending time with family, friends and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Lydia; children, Steve (Sandy) of Cold Spring, Curt (Betsy) of Bloomington, Glen (Deb) of Acworth, GA and Lisa (Kevin) Jungles of Rogers; grandchildren, Stacey, Brent, Josh, Leah, Lindsay, Jacki, Brad and Bryan; sisters, Rose Zimmerman and Monica Athman; brother, Jerome Rausch.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo, Raymond, Norbert and infant brother, Paul; sister, Veronica Wickersham and infant sister, Eleanor.
