William Bill Bolz, age 101 of Sauk Centre, died June 6, 2005, at St. Michaels Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Mass of Christian Burial was held on June 9 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church. Rev. Dick McGuire officiated with interment following in St. Marys Cemetery in Melrose.
Bill Bolz was born Feb. 21, 1904, in Lake George Township, Stearns County, Minn., to Anton and Katherine (Weiser) Bolz. On Jan. 6, 1941, he married Cecelia Ceil Leier in McGrath, Minn. The couple resided in St. Paul, where he was employed by Hoist and Derrick. From 1948 to 1968 they farmed in Ashley Township, Stearns County. They then resided in Sauk Centre, Albany and Melrose and returned to Sauk Centre in 1980. He was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church and St. Pauls Catholic Aid.
Survivors include his wife, Ceil Bolz of Sauk Centre; four children, Roger (Barb) Bolz of Bloomington, Jan (Ron) Hoppe of Freeport, Doris (Doug) Trisko-Kuehne of Avon and Michael (Jackie) Bolz of Sauk Centre; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step-great grandson; and brother, Edwin (Madeline) Bolz of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ernest and David Boles; sister, Lucille Myers and infant sister, Aurelia Bolz. Serving as casket bearers were Steven, Chuck and Eric Bolz, Alicia Crawford, Jeff Hoppe, Barb Hasbrouck, Brian and Darryl Trisko. Cross bearer was Virginia Tise and scripture bearer was Jackie Bolz. Honorary bearers were old friends and neighbors including Bernard Gieske, Denis Schirmers, Al Trisko, Ed Gettel, Robert and Leonard Bromenshenkel, Elmer Orth, Edward Bieringer, Virgil Quade, Francis Unger, Bud Minette and Rudy Vait. Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
