Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Marlin Pflipsen, age 87, who died Monday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Waite Park, MN. Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) and from 9:00 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. The St. Cloud VFW Post #428 will pray at 6:30 p.m. and Waite Park American Legion #428 will pray at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home.
Marlin was born in New Munich, MN to John and Anna (Hiltner) Pflipsen. He married Adeline Beckers on June 6, 1944 in Sacred Heart Church, Tampa, Florida. Marlin loved spending time with his family & he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and golfing. He served in the United States Air Force as a pilot during World War II and worked at Franklin Manufacturing for 39 years. Marlin was a member of St. Boniface Parish, St. Cloud VFW Post #428 and Waite Park American Legion Post #428.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline; children, Doug (Linda) of Cold Spring, John (Patti) of St. Cloud, Jim (Carol) of Sartell, Kathy (Albie) Kraemer of Richmond; brothers, Dave (Evie) of St. Cloud, Al of St. Joseph; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bob, Harold, and Edna Smith; one grandchild.
