Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Spring Hill for Theresia V. Klassen, age 96, of Spring Hill, who passed away March 21, 2008 at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church in Spring Hill. Parish Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. followed by St. Michael's Christian Women at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Theresia was born April 29, 1911 in Lake Henry, MN to Jacob and Catherine (Garding) Hemmesch. She married Nicholas Klassen on May 3, 1938 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Henry. They farmed in Lake Henry Township until 1962 when they moved to Spring Hill. She w as a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and Christian Women. She loved gardening, quilting, baseball games and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Theresia is survived by her children, Ralph (Marcella) Klassen of Richmond, Lorraine Cagley of Tulsa, OK, Kathy (Ralph) Kalthoff of Richmond, Duane (LaDes) Glanzer-Klassen of Minneapolis, Caroline (Rueben) Nathe of Litchfield, Hildegard (Richard) Nohner of Clearwater, Marie Klassen of Minneapolis, Jane (Bob) Detloff of Sartell and Jim (Jan) Klassen of Spring Hill, 25 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Nicholas (1995), daughter Marlene (1964), great grandson Troy Athmann, sister Margaret Stang and brothers Marcus, Bernard and Alois Hemmesch.
