Dorothy M. Olmscheid, 77, of St. Martin, passed away Sept. 1, 2004 at Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, Sept. 4, at St. Martins Catholic Church in St. Martin. Reverend Julian Schmiesing, OSB and her nephew Reverend Marvin Enneking officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Dorothy was born on Oct. 29, 1926 in Lake Henry, Minn., to John and Helen (Meyer) Spanier. She married Gilbert J. Olmscheid on Aug. 31, 1948 at St. Margarets Catholic Church in Lake Henry. The couple farmed in St. Martin Township all of their married lives. Dorothy moved to St. Martin in November of 1983. She was a member of St. Martins Parish, St. Martin Catholic Aid Association, St. Anns Society and the Lady of Fatima Mission Group.
Survivors include her children, David of Fridley, Norbert of St. Cloud, Barb (Lenny) Gillitzer of St. Joseph, Deborah (Joseph) Korte of St. Cloud, Dan (Bea) of St. Martin, Betty (Don) Roelike of Belgrade, Fred of St. Martin, and Robert (Stacy) of Albany; 12 grandchildren; brothers, John of Lake Henry, Hubert of Aberdeen, S.D.; sisters, Julitta Fuchs of St. Cloud, Rosetta Olmscheid of San Diego, Calif., Odilia Hagen of San Antonio, Tx., and Carol Zacskowski of Pine River.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on Feb.12, 1983, infant daughter, Mary, sister, Marie Olmscheid, two brothers, Joseph and Adelbert. Arrangements were by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home, Paynesville.
