Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Robert J. Gieske, age 72, of Paynesville, who died Tuesday at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Melrose. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Parish Prayers will be 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Bob was born March 7, 1932 in Melrose, Minnesota to William and Mary (Helsper) Gieske. He married Delphine Schreifels in 1935 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. They moved to Minneapolis where he was employed at Honeywell, later known as Alliant Tech. They retired to Lake Koronis near Paynesville in 1993.
Surviving Bob are: his wife Delphine of Paynesville, his children: Russell (Judy) of Blaine, Scott (Wendy) of Brooklyn Park, Dean (Linda) of Dayton, Lucinda (Rob) LeClair of Elk River and Sandra (Rob) Partyka of Golden Valley, his 11 grandchildren, his sister Rita Peterson of Texas and his brother John Gieske of Bloomington.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brother William Bollinger and sister Bernadine Anderson.
