Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Donald J. Braegelmann, age 73, who died unexpectedly on Tuesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Golden Smiles Senior Citizens and the Catholic Aid Association at 4:30 p.m. The Knights of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Jude's Mission Circle will pray at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Donald was born in Richmond, MN to Paul and Theresa (Fienhage) Braegelmann. He married Melania Schmitz on September 22, 1958 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Regal, MN. Donald was a retired farmer who enjoyed making rugs, woodworking, fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid Association, Catholic Order of Foresters and St. Jude's Mission Circle.
Survivors include his wife, Melania; children, Mary (Rick) Garding of Kimball, Elmer of Richmond, Lucy (Dan) Garding of Luxemburg, Anita (Randy) Albright of Paynesville, Norman of Waite Park, Ione (Dale Spohnholtz) of Cold Spring, Ann (Mike) Tear of NY, Jean of NY, John (Seri) of HI and Jim (Angie) of TX; 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Leona Willenbring of Richmond, Roman (Bertha ) of Cold Spring and Anna Mae (Joe) Gruenes of Eden Valley
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter and brother, Wendelin.
