Clement Edward Petters

(February 7, 1937 - August 27, 2002)

PETTERS, Clement E. "Clem", 65, of Dade City, died Tuesday August 27, 2002. He was a lifelong resident born in San Antonio, Fla. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He retired as president of C.J. Petters & Sons Inc. which owned and managed citrus groves in the local area for more than 40 years. He also retired as Lt. Col. after more than 30 years with the Florida Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan. Survivors include five sons, Clement Michael of Newport News, Va., Bernard Charles of Suwannee, Ga., Timothy John of St. Joseph, Fla., Dean Patrick of Cleveland, Ohio, and Major Samuel Brian, Dayton, Ohio; a daughter, Lt. Col. Susan Annette Davidson of Fort Hood, Texas; two brothers, Ernest of Tarpon Springs, Fla. and Raymond of St. Joseph, Fla.; four sisters, Hildegard Osbourne of Campbell, N.Y., Leona Bircher of Harrisburg, Pa., Magdeline Coverly of Williamstown, N.J., and Ruth Stewart of Hernando Fla.; and 13 grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. The Funeral Mass will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at St. Joe Cemetery.
