Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at St. Paul's Catholic Church for Eleanore M. Schoener, age 97, of Waite Park, who died on Friday, August 11. The Reverend Timothy Baltes will officiate. Inturnment will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 AM on Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Eleanore was born on August 27, 1908, in St. Martin, MN to Joseph and Mary (Tuerk) Haas. She married Cyril Schoener on January 16, 1950 in St. Paul, MN. She was employed as a bookkeeper by First American National Bank (now Bremer Bank), and later at Citizens Bank, in St. Cloud. Eleanore lived on a farm in Albany until 1920, when she moved to St. Cloud. She retired in 1973. Eleanore was a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella, and the Business and Professional Women; she volunteered at the Whitney Senior Center and the St. Cloud Library.
Eleanore is survived by: stepson David (Theresa) Schoener of West St. Paul; stepdaughter Carol (Gerald) Hannula of Morro Bay, CA; several step grandchildren; niece Barbara Huppert of Maplewood; and nephew Dave Pillatzke of Woodbury.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cyril on January 16, 1959; stepsons: Pierre, Kenneth, Cyril Jr.; stepdaughter June Zachman; brothers: Florian and Ray; sisters: Mary Rogers and Lauretta Pillatzke.
