Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport for Glory Ann "Annie" Bonfig who died peacefully Monday at the St. Cloud Hospital, surrounded by her family after a short illness with cancer. Rev. Roger Klassen, OSB and Rev. Luke Steiner, OSB will concelebrate with interment following in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Parish prayers will be held at 5 p.m. followed by Goldenaires Senior Citizens and Christian Mothers at 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Beverly (David) Omtvedt of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Norma (Lenas) Hedlund of Pine Island and Jean (Allen) Abeln of Avon; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Bonfig of Freeport; the joys of her life: nine grand-children and six great-grand-children; brother, Lloyd "Mickey" (Bertha) Stroeing of North St. Paul; sister-in-law, Beatrice "Bae" Stroeing of St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews, who were a special part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Appolonia (Frevel) Stroeing; her husband, Sylvester "Buck" Bonfig in 1969; son, Leonard "Butch" Bonfig in 2000; brother, John Stroeing; and granddaughter, Gwen Marie Bonfig, daughter of Jeanne and Butch Bonfig.
