Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich for Eleanor Roering, who died Thursday at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose, and one hour prior to service Monday at the church. Christian Mothers and Catholic Aid will pray at 7:30 p.m., followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Eleanor Catherine Roering was born March 23, 1912, in Millwood Township, Stearns County, to Stephan and Mary (Vornbrock) Engelmeyer. She married Peter Roering on February 16, 1931, at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Saint Rosa. The couple farmed near Saint Rosa, later in the Sauk Centre area. They moved to a farm near New Munich in 1943, until retirement in 1982. She lived in the New Munich Manor for 17 years, Parkview Center in Melrose for one year, and has been at Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany for the last five months. She loved quilting, card playing, rosary making, crocheting, embroidery, gardening, and visits from friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich, Saint Ann's Christian Mothers, Catholic Aid, and Young at Heart. She was also involved with TEC.

Survivors include children, Alcuin (Adelle) Roering of Brooklyn Center, Donald Roering of Sauk Centre, Luella (Donald) Schmitz of Cottage Grove, Janice (Robert) Van Heel of Freeport, Marilyn (Raymond) Terhaar of Mora, Dennis (Judith) Roering of Albany, Joni (Richard) Imdieke of Melrose, and LeRoy (Audrey) Roering of Sauk Centre; brothers and sisters, John (Beverly) Engelmeyer of Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, Alphonse (Betty) Engelmeyer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Joe (Lucille) Engelmeyer of Morristown, Peter (Alice) Engelmeyer of Foley, Clara Kulzer of Greenwald, Josephine Rehkamp of Sauk Centre, Mary Shepherd of Coon Rapids; 27 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter Roering on January 16, 1982; brother and sisters, Christ Engelmeyer, Anna Lehner, and Theresa Klasen; grandchild, Randy Roering; daughter-in-law, LaVerne Roering.
