Robert F. Bromenshenkel

Robert F. Bromenshenkel, 86 of Sauk Centre, died Feb. 27, 2007, at the St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, March 2, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Todd Schneider officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
Robert Bromenshenkel was born May 18, 1920, in Sauk Centre, to Albert J. and Elizabeth (Meyer) Bromenshenkel. He was united in marriage to Elsie Kulzer on Oct. 6, 1953, in Sauk Centre. Robert and his wife, Elsie, farmed southwest of Sauk Centre and retired in 1983. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Sauk Centre, Charter member of Bishop Joseph F. Busch Council #4863. He ushered for funerals, did mission work with Key Ministries in Mexico, and worked with the Glenmary Missions in Claxton, Ga. He enjoyed learning about the South, enjoyed visiting with people, helping them, bringing them Holy Communion and praying with them.
Survivors include his wife, Elsie Bromenshenkel of Sauk Centre; children, Susan (Ken) Fix of New Ulm, Geralyn "Geri" (Jeff) Nienaber of Sauk Centre, Norbert (Maggie) Bromenshenkel of Stafford, Va., Herbert (Jana) Bromenshenkel of Be-midji; daughter-in-law, Terry Bromenshenkel of Faribault; eight grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Verena Steffes, Leonard (Leona) Bromenshenkel, Allan (Mildred) Bromenshenkel, Irene (Ray) Trisko, Jane (Cyril B.) Meyer and Dorothy Bromenshenkel; sister-in-law, Hildegard Bromenshenkel, all of Sauk Centre, Esther Winters of West Union, Mary (Dan) Gritzmacher Langer of Pierz, Evelyn (Allen) Siegle of Long Prairie and Lillian "Tootie" (Eli) Lucas of Eau Clare, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his son, Walter Bromenshenkel; his parents; infant brother, Lawrence Bromenshenkel, brother, Victor Bromenshenkel; and sister, Rita Bromenshenkel. Cross bearer was Megan Fix. Scripture bearer was Sarah Fix. Casket bearers were his sons, Norbert Bromenshenkel and Herbert Bromenshenkel, and grandsons, Nathaniel Fix, Brian Nienaber, Jason Nienaber, and son-in-law, Jeff Nienaber. Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
