Mass of Christian Burial will be in the afternoon on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Jacob Prairie, MN for Rose C. Blonigen, age 94, who died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call after 4p.m. Thursday and from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). The St. James Christian Women will pray at 4:30 p.m. and Parish Prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home in Richmond.
Rose was born in Richmond, MN to Jacob and Mary (Braegelmann) Kron. She married Peter G. Blonigen on June 17, 1941 in Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Richmond, MN. The couple farmed together north of Jacobs Prairie for many years. Rose enjoyed farming, needlework and gardening. She was a member of St. James Parish and Christian Women.
Survivors include her children, Marcus of Jacobs Prairie, Laura (Rich) Rohleder of CO, Julia (Dan) Hastings of CO, John of Roscoe, Roman (Arlene) of Princeton, Dorothy (Jim) Carver of Marshall, Pauline of Jacobs Prairie and Clara (Warner) Peterson of Buffalo; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers Claude (Francis) Kron, Eugene Kron, and sister Gertrude Schutz.
She is preceded in death by her husband Peter (1981); siblings, Nick, Elizabeth, Helen, Agnes, Leo and Othmar.
