The Mass Celebrating the Life of Anton, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. Father Roger Klassen OSB will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Tony died Monday, December 4, 2006 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany. Friends may call from 4-9:00 PM Friday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and after 10:00 AM on Saturday at the church. Sacred Heart parish prayers will be at 5:00 PM, followed by St. Joseph's Society at 8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home in Albany.

Anton was born April 13, 1916 in New Munich to John and Elizabeth (Bloch) Funk. He married Katherine Moscho on May 5, 1942 in St. Martin. Anton farmed southwest of Freeport his entire lifetime.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Joseph Society. He served on the Oak Township Board for many years, enjoyed bowling and was an avid fan of the local New Munich amateur baseball team.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine of Freeport; children, Eldred Funk of Brooklyn Park, Ardell (Donald) Loehr of Prior Lake, Gerald (Susan) Funk of Long Prairie, Joyce (Roger) Schoenberg of Greenwald, Joan (Roger) Stradal of Sauk Rapids, Richard (Bonnie) Funk of Sauk Rapids, Isadore "Butch" Funk of Cold Spring, Lee (Rick) Passek of Savage, Cindy (Roger) Stephanson of Mound and Daryl Funk of Eagan; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Norbert and George Funk of New Munich and sister, Barbara Wenker of Melrose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Donald "Peter" Funk on March 23, 2001, brothers, Henry and Ed Funk and sister, Sr. Clement OSB.
