Services will be 11 am Saturday, March 8, 2003 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, St. Rosa for Della Thell who died Monday morning at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 1-2 pm Friday at the Mother of Mercy Chapel, 4-9 pm Friday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany & after 10 am Saturday at the church. Christian Mothers & St Rosa Lions will pray at 7:30 pm followed by parish prayers at 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Della was born in Millwood Twnsp. to John & Elizabeth (Korte) Notch. She married John Thell on May 13, 1930 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Freeport. The couple farmed north of Freeport & Della later moved to Albany after the death of her husband in 1987. Della was a member of the Christian Mothers & St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Della is survived by her children, Eunice Oswald, Kansas City, MO; Gerald (Sally), St. Cloud, Linus (Mary Jane), St. Louis Park; Charlie (Pat), Freeport; Carol (Ralph) Berenger, Cairo, Egypt; 22 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, & sisters, Sr. Ann Notch, O.S.B., Lacey, WA; Monica Kerfeld, Sauk Centre, & daughter-in-law, Darlene Thell, Anoka.
She is preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 19, 1987, son, Jerome, Jan. 9, 2003, grandchildren, John Oswald, Wayne Thell, Mary Catherine Thell, & 14 sisters & brothers, Katy Van Heel, Mary McKenney, Dora Frevel, Aggie Van Heel, Elsie Warneke, Sr. Mary Neil, O.S.B., Herman, Joe, Al, Lawrence, John, Ed, Theodore, & Maury Notch.
