Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Marie J. Illies age 94 of St. Cloud who died Saturday, December 25, 2004 at the Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park. Reverend Timothy Wenzel will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. The Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Marie was born on December 23, 1910 in Melrose, Minnesota to Henry and Mary (Dickhaus) Tiemann. She married Ralph H. Illies on March 25, 1935 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud. Marie lived in St. Cloud all of her married life and was a member of St. Anthony's Parish and Christian Women.

Survivors include her son, Ralph, Jr. and his wife JoAnn of St. Cloud; her daughter, Rose Marie Stang of Waite Park; 11 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Koetter and her husband Jerome of Freeport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on September 1, 2001, one grandson, Brian Stang, son-in-law, Vincent "Bob" Stang, two brothers, Alphonse and Henry, three sisters, Agnes Muellner, Betty Belkengran, Evelyn Messer and Lorretta Marthaler.
