Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2002 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany, for Irene Fiedler, age 83, who died Tuesday at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home, Albany. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 4-9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Irene was born on January 6, 1919 in Foley to Joseph & Helen (Bardonski) Walkowiak. She married Casper Fiedler, Sr. on November 17, 1936 in Mayhew Lake. She farmed with her husband in Sauk Centre and was a homemaker all of her life. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, Pioneer Club, & Seven Dolors Catholic Church.
Irene is survived by her children, Arlene (Don) Messerich of Melrose, Mickey (Norb) Wessel of Sauk Centre, Janice (Bob) Derichs of Melrose, Casper, Jr. (Dorinda) of Waite Park, Connie Fiedler of St. Cloud, Melvin (Tillie) of Albany, Bernice Akervik of St. Wendel, Buster (Cindy) of Albany, Bill of Albany, Allen (Jackie) of Albany & Helen (Leroy) Frericks of Melrose; 37 Grandchildren; 38 Great-grandchildren; & Sisters, Josephine Rubenik & Dorothy Simonet.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Casper, Sr. in 1987; son, Marvin; daughter, Virginia; grandson, Marvin Wessel; & sister, Annie Dray.
