Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove for Albin Zenzen, who died Friday from cancer at his home in Sauk Centre. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. on Monday and from 8 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Melrose Veterans Honor Guard will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Albin Zenzen was born in Meire Grove to Clarence and Lydia (Schmiesing) Zenzen. He was united in marriage to JoAnn Koopmeiners on August 16, 1969, in Melrose, MN. He hauled milk for most of his life, first as an owner/operator and then the last 10 years for Nelson Creamery. He was with the US Army stationed in Bamburg, Germany from 1962 to 1965. Albin was an 11-year member of Alcoholics Anonymous. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and completing odd household jobs. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Zenzen of Sauk Centre; son, Daryl Zenzen of Sauk Centre; daughters, Sara and Bethany Zenzen of St. Cloud; parents, Clarence and Lydia Zenzen of Meire Grove; sisters, Anna Mae (Steve) Uphus of St. Paul, Aurelia (Dave) Schwanke of St. Cloud; brother, Art (Mary) Zenzen of Turtle Lake, WI; in- laws, Irene Pohlman of Melrose, Mary Jane (Albert) Austing of West St. Paul, Bert (Verlia) Koopmeiners of Waite Park, Marjorie (Gerald) Roering of Grey Eagle, Florentine (Sal) Roering of Maplewood, Cathy Koopmeiners of Melrose, Jerry (Marjorie) Koopmeiners of Melrose, and Carol (Butch) Klaphake of Sauk Centre.
Albin was preceded in death by his brothers in-law, Jim Koopmeiners and Lawrence Pohlmann; father and mother in-law, Herman and Florence Koopmeiners. Military Honors are provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
