Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids, for Thomas A. Thueringer, age 79, of Sauk Rapids who died Sunday at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Rev. Eugene Doyle will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery with full military honors provided by Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m., Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254 will pray at 6:30 p.m., Sacred Heart Men's Club and Foley Knights of Columbus Bishop Marty Council 3603 will pray at 6:00 p.m.

Tom was born February 26,1924 in Sauk Rapids to Frank and Elizabeth ( Thell) Thueringer. He married Lucille Sand on September 24, 1945 at St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Cloud, she died on February 22, 1981. He then married Donna Rasmusson on September 23, 1983 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids. Tom lived in Sauk Rapids his entire life and worked as a Supply Officer at St. Cloud Veteran's Administration Center for 35 years, retiring in 1980. After retirement he was a volunteer for the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice and also worked at Weight Watchers in Waite Park. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sauk Rapids American Legion Post 254, and Sacred Heart Holy Name Society (Men's Club). He was a Navy veteran of WWII, serving on the U.S.S. Miller from 1942-1946.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Sauk Rapids; children and their spouses, Gerald & Mary Thueringer of Maple Grove; Joyce & Jack Welsh of Cushing; Bob& JoAnn Thueringer of Sauk Rapids; Tim Thueringer of Sauk Rapids; Mark & Shelly Thueringer of Sauk Rapids; David & Jan Thueringer of Sauk Rapids; Mary Jo & Tom Vogel of Sauk Rapids; Frank & Jyotti Thueringer of St. Louis Park; step-children, Janie Hackett of Rice; Mary Beth Cochran of Sauk Rapids; Scott Rasmusson of Elk River; sister, Rosalyn Morgan of St. Cloud; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Lucille on February 22, 1981; infant son, Ted; sisters, Marie Nolden, Hilda Nosner, Eleanor DeSanto and brother Frank. Memorials are preferred to the Poor Clare Monastery or St. Cloud Hospital Hospice.
