Geraldine "Gerry" Terhaar, age 82, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the McCone County Health Center in Circle. A celebration of Gerry's life will be held in the St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Circle. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, Minnesota with Fr. Cletus Connors OSB officiating. One hour prior to the service on Monday, there will be a gathering of friends and relatives in the Church. Rite of Committal will be held in the St. Boniface Cemetery in Cold Spring. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive, Montana and Wenner Funeral Home of Cold Spring have been entrusted with the arrangements.

Gerry was born on January 16, 1928 in Harvey, North Dakota, the daughter of Edwin and Eileen (Batterberry) Wenner. She was raised and educated in Richmond, Minnesota and in Cold Spring, Minnesota, graduating from St. Boniface High School in Cold Spring with the class of 1946. She then moved to the Minneapolis - St. Paul, Minnesota area, where she was employed for a short time.
Gerry married Jerome Terhaar on June 6, 1949 in Cold Spring. The couple moved to Circle, Montana in 1949. While living in Circle, Gerry worked for the Circle Public School system. She and her husband moved to Miles City, Montana in 1959 where Gerry was employed with Custer County Nursing Home as a Nurses Aide and also helped her husband in the Custer Music Store which they owned and operated.
In 1973, Gerry and Jerome moved to Darrington, Washington, where Gerry worked as a house mother for the Snohomish County Boys Home. In 1984, the couple retired to the Stearns County- Cold Spring area.
Gerry returned to school at the St. Cloud Minnesota Technical College where she received her Bachelors Degree in Medical Records at the age of 60. After receiving her degree, she was employed by Central Minnesota Neuro-Science Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Jerome in 1994. She retired in 1999. In 2005, Gerry began sharing her time between Wisconsin and Montana, living with her daughter Jean and daughter Diane. She had been a resident of the McCone County Health Center since 2009. Gerry loved to read and do cross word puzzles, which gave her a "dictionary-type" vocabulary. She enjoyed playing Cribbage, Yahtzee and liked to dance. She cherished the times spent with children, grandchildren and all of their friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Ken.

Gerry is survived by her children, Nick Terhaar (Jeri Anne O'Niel) of Polson, Montana, Mary (Brad) Burge of Parker, Colorado, Jean (Robin) Jaeger of Grandview, Wisconsin, Diane (Sven) Idland of Circle, Montana, Eileen Terhaar (Ron Devlin) of Terry, Montana, Patty (Bob) Jesso of Burnsville, Minnesota, Michael (Christina) Terhaar Arlington, Washington, Mark Terhaar of Circle, Montana, Ken (Terri) Terhaar of Mount Vernon, Washington, Kathy (Alan) Doane of Bloomfield, Montana; two sisters, Marilyn Roettger of Cold Spring, Minnesota and Ellen (Monte) Widdows of Escondido, California; 27 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
