Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich for Roger Brickweg who died Sunday, June 5 at the Melrose Area Hospital from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. New Munich Fire Department will pray a rosary at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 8 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Roger Brickweg was born May 7, 1952 in Melrose to Frank and Jeanette (Hoeschen) Brickweg. He was employed as a mechanic at Worms Lumber & Ready Mix in New Munich. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich and retired from the New Munich Fire Department after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking and riding his Harley Davidson. He also enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Josh Brickweg of Sauk Centre and Bryan Brickweg (Jennifer) of New Munich; grandchildren, Mariah Rose and Logan Roger; mother, Jeanette Brickweg of New Munich; brothers and sisters, Jim Brickweg (Joni) of Opole, Bob Brickweg (Lynelle) of Alexandria, Sharon Brickweg of Alexandria, Amy Schneider (David) of Crystal, Mary Brickweg-Kerfeld (Kevin) of Sauk Centre, Pat Molitor (Jon) of Waite Park and Paul Brickweg (Diane) of Alexandria.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Frank Brickweg; and infant brother, Kenneth Brickweg.
