Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2002 at Mary of Immaculate Conception Church in Rockville for Clemens Schlangen, age 91, who died Saturday at Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 - 10:30 Wednesday morning, at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Catholic Aid Association will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m.

Clem was born in Richmond, MN to Henry and Gertrude (Braegelmann) Schlangen. He married Anna Kunstleben on September 27, 1943, in St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Farming, MN. The couple farmed near Rockville all of their life. He was a member of Mary of Immaculate Conception Parish and the Catholic Aid Association.

Survivors include his wife, Anna; children, Herbert (Joanne), Jerry (Joyce) of Cold Spring and Marilyn (Dennis) Reitmeier of Richmond; sisters, Alvina Schneider of Eden Valley and Agidia "Kitty" (Walter) Theisen of St. Joseph; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Alphonse, Norbert, Ervin and Edmund.
