Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Seven Dolors Catholic Church for Vernon 'Sonny' Hoeschen, 71, who died Sunday at St. Cloud Hospital.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Brenny Funeral Home and one hour before services Wednesday at the church in Albany. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Albany followed by Albany Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Society at 8:30.

Vernon Hoeschen was born in Albany to Paul and Anna (Tomsche) Hoeschen. He married Mary Jo Glatzmaier on Sept. 4, 1989, in Albany. He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Albany Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph's Society. He was a former waiter at the St. Paul Hotel and a former salesman at Schunaman's Department Store in Minneapolis. He attended barbers school and was employed at Gene's Barber Shop in St. Cloud for many years and owned and operated Vern's Barber Shop in east St. Cloud and Sauk Rapids until retiring in 1993. He was a member of National Barber Association and National Rifle Association.

Survivors include his wife; sisters, Irene Rademacher of Freeport, and Bernice Atkinson of St. Cloud; and twin sister, Verena Nathe of Sauk Centre. He was preceded in death by sister, Rosemary Gysberg.
