Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Eleanor A. Fuchs, 86, who died Sunday at her home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. Christian Mothers will pray at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Melrose followed by parish prayers at 8:30.
Eleanor Fuchs was born in Farming Township, Stearns County, to Joseph and Mary (Holthaus) Kunstleben. She married John Fuchs on June 19, 1939, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Farming. The couple farmed south of Melrose for 21 years. Her husband died Oct. 28, 1960. She moved to Melrose in 1960, and worked at Litchfield Produce and then Jennie-O Foods in Melrose for 37 years. She retired in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the St. Mary's Christian Mothers and Melrose Senior Citizens.
Survivors include her son and daughter, Cyril of Wyoming, Minn., and Lucille Molitor of Melrose; brother and sister, Claude of New Munich, and Anna Schlangen of Cold Spring; seven grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many stepgreat-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her grandchild, John Fuchs.
