Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Tony H. Petermeier, 77, who died Monday at St. Cloud Hospital.Interment will be in the parish cemetery with full military honors provided by Melrose Honor Guard.Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. Melrose Honor Guard will pray at 7 tonight at the funeral home in Melrose followed by parish prayers at 8.Tony Petermeier was born in Getty Township, Stearns County, to Ignatius and Caroline (Uhlenkamp) Petermeier.

He married Ella Betow on June 2, 1949, in Sauk Centre. The couple lived in Sauk Centre until August 1965 when they moved to Melrose. He was employed by Gebeke Transport and then later by Loxtercamp Transport until retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Melrose American Legion Post and was a life member of VFW Schanhaar-Otte Post in Melrose.

Survivors include daughters and son, Sharon Henry of Long Prairie, Jeanne of Monticello, Ruth Bushman of Melrose, and Michael of Woodbury, sisters and brothers, Florentine Schmiesing of Elrosa, Erma Kettler of Melrose, Evelyn Jansen, Roman and Edmund of Sauk Centre, and Al of Richmond; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, on Jan. 2, 1995; son, Joey; and infant twin siblings.
