Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Saint John's Catholic Church, Meire Grove, for Larry L. Imdieke Jr., 41, 1053-26th Ave. N, who died Friday at his home.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Melrose.
Larry Imdieke Jr. was born in Melrose to Lawrence and Lucille (Schleppenbach) Imdieke. He grew up helping his parents with the family business, Imdieke's in Meire Grove. He attended St. Cloud Business College. He went to work for Metzroth's in St. Cloud for several years, then worked at and managed Thom McAnn's in St. Cloud for more than 10 years. He had been store manager at Paynesville Fleet Supply for the last seven years. He was very active with the various Meire Grove baseball teams and coaching traveling teams in baseball and basketball. He also was a former assistant varsity basketball coach for Apollo High School. He was a member of Saint Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud and was active with Catholic Charities.
Survivors include his parents of Meire Grove; sons, Benjamin and Matthew of St. Cloud; sisters and brothers, Linda Klaphake of Melrose, LuAnn of St. Paul, Lynette Imdieke-Struzyk, Louis, Laura and Lloyd of St. Cloud, Leona Ulrich of Perham, LaVonne Gallus of St. Joseph, Lisa Arend of Duluth, Lila Smith of Crystal, and Lyle of Northfield.He was preceded in death by brother, Lynn.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.
