Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle for Walburga Arnzen, who died Friday at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre. Interment will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Ward Springs. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Grey Eagle. Christian Mothers will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
Walburga Arnzen was born in Kandota Township, Todd County to Ferdinand and Marie (Schmiesing) Ahrens. She married Alois "Boots" Arnzen on March 4, 1935, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. The couple lived in St. Rosa and moved to a farm near the Ward Springs area where they resided for many years. Walburga was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Grey Eagle and the Christian Mothers.
Survivors include her children, Bernice Larson (Ralph) of Coon Rapids, Donna Weidner (James) of Cold Spring, Doretta Sprenger (Patrick) of Brainerd, Gloria Arnzen of Sauk Centre, and James Arnzen (Sharon) of Sauk Centre; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sister, Rose Berscheid of Sauk Centre.
Walburga was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alois "Boots" Arnzen on January 11, 1994; four children; and brothers and sisters, Sylvester Ahrens, Edwin Ahrens, Marie Berscheid, Dorothy Kemper and Ferdinand Ahrens.
