To the Family of Anna Blommel
By Gary & Gloria Deick
All of you are, no doubt, aware that Aunt Anna Blommel passed away last April. Some of you knew her will and have fond memories of her while for others she may be just a name that you remember hearing when people start talking about family. She was the last one of her generation of Blommel's and we thought that some of you might appreciate a little memento from her and Frances' lives.
Theirs was a generation that saw many changes, from horse and buggy to cars and airplanes to the space age. Their father was one of the first in their county to own a vehicle, but Anna and Frances never did own one. They moved from rural Minnesota to Minneapolis where they relied on public tranportation. Except for radio, televistion and land-line telephones, the electronics that most of us count on for communication and information never did become a part of their world. Theirs were lives that were filled with hard work and few luxuries. They lived in their home in Minneapolis for over 50 years.
