Services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church for Marie R. Danzl, 86, who died Monday at her home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 tonight and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. The Melrose Christian Mothers will pray at 7 tonight at the funeral home in Melrose followed by parish prayers at 8.
Marie Danzl was born in Grove Township, Stearns County, to Bernard and Anna (Kulzer) Uphus. She married Aloysius "Al" Danzl on June 25, 1951, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Melrose. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Melrose Christian Mothers and the Minnesota Senior Federation.
Survivors include her sons, Ralph of Tempe, Ariz., Ronald of Green River, Wyo., and Ruben of Melrose; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 27, 1986, and brothers and sisters, Henry, Herman, Aloysius, John, Joseph, Peter, Rose Humbert, Barbara Barten, Gertie Wengler, Maggie Deeters and Frances Bruce. Memorials are preferred to the Melrose area food shelf.
