Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of Donald Blonigen Sr., age 73 of Browerville formerly of St. Anna, will be 10:30 AM Friday, July 7, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Anna. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4-9:00 PM Thursday evening at the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home in Albany and again after 9:30 AM until the time of Service Friday at the Church in St. Anna. Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 PM Thursday at the funeral home in Albany. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Donald was born June 30, 1933 in Albany Township to Walter and Cecilia (Evens) Blonigen. On June 9, 1951 he married Leona Philippi in Collegeville. Don was an avid sportsman, who loved fishing, hunting, and was a lifetime musician. He was a prankster with a great sense of humor who loved life. Donald worked in various occupations including: farming, heavy equipment, carpenter and resort owner. Donald loved his family, friends and spending time with his grand-children and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed wintering in Arizona and Texas participating in weekly musical jam sessions after retirement.
Donald is survived by his wife of 55 years Leona of Browerville, his ten sons: Don Jr. (Lois), Waite Park; Harry, Aldrich; Sam (Martha), St. Cloud; Tom (Sandy), St. Cloud; Dave (Brenda), Avon; Herb (Brenda), Avon; Craig (Colleen) Andover; Doug (Patti), Holdingford; Dale (Alex), St. Francis; Brian (Linda), Clearwater; Two daughters and Fiancees: Janice (Mike Hughes) Larson, Andover; and Michelle (John Bullock) Blonigen, Evansville IN, 30 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. One sister: Brigetta Ehresmann of Richmond and Brother-in-law Irving Anderson, White Bear Lake. Donald is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Lucille Anderson
