Sue Leukam, age 51 of Belgrade, died unexpectedly November 26, 2007 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 Saturday, December 1, 2007 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade where there will be a 7:30 p.m. Parish Prayer Service. Visitation will continue on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Susan Kaye Leukam was born on Feb. 7, 1956 in Sauk Centre, the daughter of John and Lucille (Gysberg) Schaefer. She grew up on a farms near Spring Hill and Belgrade. She attended Belgrade High School, graduating in 1974. On September 30, 1978, Sue was united in marriage to Don Leukam. To this union, a daughter and son were born. They made their home south of Belgrade, where Sue ran a cleaning business out of her home. She also worked for Rice Hospital in Willmar for the last three years, where she most recently had been working in the health information service department.
She is survived by husband, Don; children, Tracy (Turner) Fixen of Fargo, ND and Robbie Leukam of St. Cloud; three brothers, John Schaefer of Las Vegas, NV, Tom Schaefer of Willmar and Mark Schaefer of Sauk Centre; and two sisters, Mary (Dave) Schmitz of Belgrade and Patty (Steve) Weiner of Milbank, SD.
