Peter Stamm came to the United States from Germany in 1856 with his brothers Ferdinand and Louis.

He settled in New York City at 252 West 49th Street, and lived there until 1876 when he moved to Milltown, New Jersey. The Peter Stamm's lived on Ryder's Lane.
