Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2006 at St. Mary's Cathedral Lower Church, for Genevieve R. Schaefer, age 101, of St. Cloud. The Reverend Steven Binsfeld will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may after 9:30 a.m. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Genevieve was born on September 17, 1905 in St. Cloud to Barthel and Elizabeth (Bach) Saatzer. She married Aloys Wink on October 25, 1925 in St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud; he died in 1948. She married Ursus Schaefer on October 26, 1959; he died in 1961. Genevieve was employed as a seamstress by Fandel's Department Store for over 20 years. She retired in 1976. Genevieve was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Genevieve is survived by: her children, Donna Mae (Melvin) Pfannenstein of Glenburnie, MA, Norma (James) Hartmann of St. Cloud, Eugene of Kallispell, MT, Carol (Harland) Gross of St. Cloud; 31 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sons Charles, John, Norman, 7 brothers, one sister, and 6 grandchildren. Genevieve's family would like to express special thanks to the staff on third floor at St. Benedict's Senior Community for their love and care.
