Ella Mary Meyer was greeted by her husband, Reinhold, son Leonard, grandson Sherwood (10/15/1976-6/15/1997-Issued MN) her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Roelike, sisters, Alma and Rosalia Roelike, Mildred Beste; brothers, Leander and Othmar Roelike on Sunday, November 17, 2002. The cause of death was a result of a fall and quite simply a large number of 95-year-old parts wearing out. However, her mind was sharp, alert and probing until her fall that morning.
Ella was enveloped in love by her sons Ernest of Alexandria, Donald (Shirley) Austin, TX, Elmer (Virginia) Meire Grove, Maurice (Mary Lou) Big Lake, Virgil (Joyce) Burnsville, daughter, Jane (significant other Johnny Canton) Edina, daughter-in-law, Joan Meyer (Leonard) Belgrade, sister Evelyn (Edward) Flohr (Oshkosh, WI), seven grandaughters, Diane (Ron) Pierce, Michelle (Ron) Fuchs, Lynette (Marc) Banks, Amy, Charlotte, Cristal and Jennifer Meyer; eight Meyer grandsons, Allen, Gary (Kim), Mark (Melissa), Jon, Jay, Michael, Eric, and Marc; two great grandaughters, Cheryl and Stephanie Pierce; eight great grandsons, Jeremy and David Pierce, Trey Meyer, Grant and Grady Fuchs, Matthew, Travis and Tyler Banks. Ella was a member of the St. Elizabeth's Society, Christian Mothers Society and Poor Souls Society . Visitation will be at the Patton Schad Funeral Home in Melrose on Wednesday, November 20 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and from 8:00am to 11:00am on Thursday. A memorial mass and celebration of Ella's life will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 11:30am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Casket Bearers will be Lynette Banks, Cristal, Allen, Gary, Mark, Michael, Eric, and Marc Meyer.
