Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church for Lorraine M. Wegner, 87, who died Monday at Good Samaritan Care Center.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home and an hour before services Friday at the church in Paynesville. Daughters of Isabella, St. Louis Christian Women and Little Flower Mission Group will pray at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Paynesville followed by parish prayers at 8 and Catholic Aid Association at 8:30.
Lorraine Wegner was born in Lake Henry to Ignatius and Martha (Jaeger) Meyer. She lived and worked on the family farm in Lake Henry. She married August Wegner on June 29, 1937, in St. Louis Catholic Church, Paynesville. They worked and moved across the Midwest until returning to Lake Henry in 1943 to farm. In 1962, they sold the farm and moved to St. Cloud, where she worked as a seamstress in custom drapery design for Herberger's.After retiring, they moved back to Paynesville where she was an active member of St. Louis Christian Women, Daughters of Isabella, Little Flower Mission Group, Paynesville Senior Citizens, Paynesville Catholic Aid Association and St. Louis Catholic Church. She also was involved with the implementation of the Paynesville Area Center.
Survivors include her children, Cleone McCoy of Eden Valley, Carol Topp of Buffalo, Cecile of Edina, and Ruth of Casa Grande, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by her husband, on Jan. 20, 1996; one great-granddaughter; and sisters and brothers, Matilda Weber, Linda Fuchs, Julietta Lieser, Eleanor, Hilary Lieser, Catherine Horn, Leo and Ervin.
